Looking For Used Mobility Scooters? Be Creative & You'll Find One Easily.

There a tons of reasons why you could be considering purchasing used mobility scooters.

Perhaps  your doctor has  suggested you get some aid to assist in your increasing mobility problems. Maybe you're on a fixed income and don't have the cash to outlay for a new one, as they can be rather expensive. It could be you just "don't buy new", you never see the value in paying new prices for vehicles for example, when you could buy used ones. The same principle applies to purchasing  a medicare scooter, and you know a used mobility scooter is more your style

But where do you start your search? Think local!

Try searching your local web based community buy/sell board for some thing like "cheap mobility scooters". Are you familiar with Craigslist? I bet you'll find all types of electric motor scooters there.

Do you have a seniors rest home nearby? Pay them a visit. It's a sad reality that many of the users of these devices eventually become more bedridden and unable to utilize their trusty pal and would happily sell you a used mobility scooter.

Think within your family. Can you remember a relative that recently lost a grandma or grandpa? Did they own an electric wheelchair? Talk with their family as quite often someone has a perfectly good Pride mobility scooter sitting in a garage, just collecting dust, & no one has had the ambition to actively sell it.

A somewhat grizzly option - check the local obituaries. It's a sad fact that the people that generally need power wheel chair type vehicles etc, eventually pass on. A discreet phone call to a relative of the deceased will often yield a perfectly good portable motor scooter at a bargain price, and you'll be appreciated for disposing of part of the memory they had of Grandma in her little chariot.

A simple little ad in the "wanted to buy" section of your community newspaper  for a used mobility scooter can bring amazing results. Usually some family members have landed with a deceased relatives scooter, and have no idea what to do with it, and will gladly pick up the phone and offer you a bargain.

What about garage sales?  Same idea here, there's likely a perfectly good 3 wheel scooter sitting in a garage right in your neighborhood.

Last but not least, talk with your local scooter dealer. These little machines are like cars to some people, they get tired of them, and want a new one. And what do they do with their old Wispa mobility scooter for example? Yes, they trade them in. Most dealers will have quite an array of used mobility scooters they'll gladly sell you.

Just be creative & think local,  you'll find several used mobility scooters in no time.

I'm one of those severely overweight dudes that get around my little word on one of those mobility scooters, & I must say I take offense at the notion that I'm overweight BECAUSE of my dependence on it.

Rubbish.

I've got bad knees & I can't walk to good, but I can sure eat you see.

I'm getting more advanced with my MS symptoms and find myself reading more & more about what my future is. Thanks for the good information on the different styles of scooters. Perhaps I'll try looking in my neighborhood for a used one, I never thought of asking family members of people that are now deceased.

I think people overuse these scooters, often to their detriment. I see severely overweight people trundling around on these mobility scooters, when they'd be a lot better off parking it and getting their butt out there walking.

We were amazed at how many people had these sitting around in their garages. I think it's because they're a reminder of Gramma or whoever they acquired it from.
