Insurance For Your Scooter - Don't Leave Home Without It

Many people are not aware that their regular automobile insurance can also include Mobility Scooter Insurance.  This is something that is not normally advertised only because it is a type of insurance that is not generally used.  For many people, their only form of transportation is a heavy duty electric wheelchair. The purpose of scooter insurance is in case if you were out traveling on the street, and you were to get into some type of accident and your scooter became damaged.  Most of us would not be able to come up with the money to replace or repair your electric mobility scooter.

Another  reason that you might want to have Mobility Scooter Insurance is if it were to break down on you, or if the motor were to give up.  It is very possible that it could be stolen as well. This would cost more money than most people have.  You would have to pay money out of your pocket to get it fixed, or replaced.  It is a good idea to get a good insurance plan that will take care of everything for you.  Having a good insurance plan for your mobile scooter is a great way to protect both you, as well as your scooter.

Many people are unaware of this, butin some jurisdictions it s not legally required for a scooter owner to keep Mobility Scooter Insurance on their scooter. In others it is, however. If you want to be protected, it is a smart thing to do.  Think about it for a minute, what would you do if you were to accidentally run over some one's foot, and they had to have medical attention?  Who would pay the doctor bills? The liability one exposes himself riding a scooter is not all that different than driving a car, and no one would think of going without liability insurance there.

Some people have what is called a portable mobility scooter. This is very convenient when going to the grocery store or maybe to a theme park or any place which may require a lot of walking.   A lot of times these scooters are not used very often.  It is probably still a good idea if you have some sort of Mobility Scooter Insurance even for this type of scooter.

Just because you do not use it on a daily basis does not mean that your motor will not fail you one day.

You mean I could be required by law to have mobility scooter insurance? Guess it makes sense, as they're like a little auto really, and one could inflict damage on a 3rd party, so I'd need some form of liability insurance.

You mean I can just go to my agent that carries my car insurance & ask him to simply add my scooter to the policy? What type of fee do you think that will be?
