4 Wheel Mobility Scooters For A Richer Quality Of Life.
If your mobility has recently been challenged, you will likely be considering many different options to assist you regain the freedom you’ve grown up with. We strongly suggest you consider a 4 wheel mobility scooter, especially if this is your first type of handicapped scooter.
Why a 4 wheel mobility scooter?
Sure, there are a variety of different styles of medicare scooters to choose from, but they all fall into three basic groups:
Portable Mobility Scooters
3 Wheel Mobility Scooters
4 Wheel Mobility Scooters.
Each style is quite distinct and each offers its own features, advantages and benefits.
The 4 wheel styles main feature is without a doubt it’s stability. They not only allow the user a new found sense of independence, but they allow you to have that independence with confidence. Unlike the 3 wheeled variety, which though has a little more nimble steering mechanism, is also a little more “tipsy”, the 4 wheel model is definitely more sure footed.
This stability comes at a slight price, as a little maneuverability has been given up, but so little it’s almost unnoticeable. In fact most are maneuverable enough to allow you freedom within your home, almost as well as 3 wheel models.Indeed many models are almost a hybrid style, with the two front wheels quite close together.
Most of the 4 wheel models also have a wider speed range than their 3 wheel scooter counterparts, and many are fitted with grip type tires, enabling using them both indoors an outdoors.
Four wheeled power scooters generally are equipped with lights, horns, flashers, turn signals, forward and reverse gearing, in short everything you need to enjoy them in the great outdoors.
Like heavy duty electric wheelchairs, these little carriages are battery powered, and most will offer a days usage per charge, and the charging system is as simple as plugging into the mains for a few hours.
By design these are a little heavier, (most weigh in at around 350 to 400 lb.) than portable mobility scooters, and more rigid than smaller folding mobility scooters, you’ll find 4 wheel mobility scooters to be an excellent choice when looking for stability, ruggedness, style and adaptability.

My husband has been insisting I get one of these contraptions because he says I'm to slow walking, & he's always way ahead of me. The fact that my knees are messed up likely has something to with it! Been trying to figure out what style is best, but am leaning towards a 4 wheel mobility scooter now. Thanks
